Istanbul Technical University (ITU for short), whose roots go back to the Imperial Imperial School of Engineering founded in 1773, is celebrating its 250th anniversary. During this long history, ITU, which was the country's only institution training engineers for a long time, made concrete contributions to the development and modernization of the country with the works of its engineers. It has also enabled the realization of many "firsts" that have pioneered the acquisition of new technologies. Making the "first" television broadcasts, the "first" FM and stereo-FM broadcasts in Turkey are important contributions of ITU that have both technological, cultural and social impacts. This book has been prepared with the aim of documenting and telling the stories of these contributions and remembering the ITU students who have made contributions in these fields over the years. The information contained in this book is based on documents as much as possible and these documents are illustrated. Other information is based on the memories of people who lived those days approximately 60 years ago; Therefore, there may be some omissions and errors.
